Seongnam FC reaches the quarterfinals of the U-15 Youth Championship!

Seongnam FCU15, led by head coach Lee Sang-yong, has advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2023 GROUND.N K League U15 Championship.

Seongnam FC U15 got off to a strong start in the group stage against Jeju U15, Jeonnam U15, and Seoul E U15, winning each game to advance to the quarterfinals with a clean sweep.

After three preliminary matches, the team faced Bucheon FC U15 in the quarterfinals of the tournament on Wednesday, June 16, and came back from a 1-0 deficit to draw 1-1 with a goal from Kwon Hyun-woo in the 59th minute of the second half, and won the ensuing penalty shootout (5PSO3) to advance to the quarterfinals.

In addition to reaching the quarterfinals of the championship, Seongnam FC U15 has been on a good run this season, finishing the first half of the season as runners-up in the Yeongdeok Spring Secondary U14 Youth Cup, finishing first in their group with nine wins and one draw in the K League Junior 2023 National Secondary Football League, and earning a call-up to the age-group national team for midfielder Han Seung-hee.
